The market vendors there are all on the river and it will change your perception of a traditional market.

Bridge Over the River Kwai
The bridge over the River Kwai is located in the center of Kanchanaburi. It was built by prisoners of war during World War II and was supervised by the Japanese. After Ayutthaya was captured by neighboring countries, the capital moved south and Bang Pa-In Royal Palace was abandoned for 80 years. You will stop at Lopburi on your way to Khao Yai, which is better known as "Monkey City". Phra Prang Sam Yot is the landmark of Lopburi and was built by the Khmer in the 13th century, having a typical Khmer style. On the basis of the original architectural art, local craftsmen have made some changes and created Lopburi's own style.
The reason it was called "Monkey City" is that lots of monkeys walk freely in the city. On the last weekend of November every year, the Monkey Buffet Festival is held there. The locals will prepare a feast of rich fruity food. Hundreds of monkeys are invited to the festival — the scene is strange and spectacular.
